What a Sonhee day!

Let me introduce you to someone very important to me: SONHEE MARILEE CHO. We've lived together for 2 years now, going on 3. Why, you might ask, do I love this Asian so? Let me tell you.

First of all, she's obsessed with eyelashes. Random? Yes.

I love Sonhee because we both love food. Friends supposedly don't let friends get fat. Psh. Whatev. We get fat together.

Because, clearly, we are both Korean.

Because she makes me laugh. :)

She has an awesome "Scott" face.

She lets me borrow her clothes. Also, we both have rockin' awesome rainboots.

Because she makes the most amazing faces, like these:

(The one below is my personal favorite)

Because we can dress up CRAZYYY!

Because even though we are so different, we go together perfectly.

And that, dear world, is why my little heart cares about this Asian so much. And also why my heart is missing her while she is in the motherland. Our motherland, naturally. Because I'm Asian too. Duh.

Self Discovery #1

Today, I was talking to a very cool person. Her name is Karen Valladares and she is from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. As I talked to her, I realized something about myself: I hate learning about other cultures from a textbook but I'm completely intrigued by them when I can connect them to a person that I know. Karen told me about Honduras and how she loves it but how many more opportunities we have here, as citizens of the United States. I've never really thought about how lucky I am before now. But really, all things considered, I've got it pretty dang good.

i don't really know how to use this thing...yet.

I'm pretty much unsure of how to use a blog but I like the idea of one so I'm going to try and start.

Right now I've got a lot of thoughts going around in my head. I've been thinking a lot about life and what I want to do with it. What kind of a person do I want to be remembered as? Because to be remembered as that kind of a person, I have to be that person. That's probably going to require some changes. Life is hard. As I've grown up, that realization has come to me. But so has the one that life is BEAUTIFUL!

I know that it's cheesy, and it's totally from the Hannah Montana movie, but I love the quote: "Life's a climb...but the view is great."
